Julia Thomas
Professor Julia Thomas, from Cardiff University, UK, is an international expert on Victorian illustration and visual and digital cultures. She has published widely in these fields, including Pictorial Victorians: The Inscription of Values in Word and Image (2004), Shakespeare's Shrine (2012) and Nineteenth-Century Illustration and the Digital (2017). Her latest book on illustration and cognition is being published by Oxford University Press this year. She has been Principal Investigator on many AHRC-funded projects and is the Director of the Database of Mid-Victorian Illustration (https://dmvi.org.uk) and the largest online archive dedicated to illustration: The Illustration Archive (https://illustrationarchive.cf.ac.uk/).
