Abstract The conference aims to investigate the role played by queens and powerful women during the centuries of the ancient regime. In the context of the recent historiography on the subject, we will focus on the multiple levels of exercise of power by queen and noblewomen and on their participation in the construction of geopolitical, diplomatic and power management processes, in the orbit of the court.
